Chopta - Uttarakhand

After intense deliberation and planning, we finally embarked upon our 5 days trip to Uttarakhand in June 2011. With the weather playing truant, we were forced to take the final call at the last moment. Even our host at Chopta tried every trick to discourage us against this adventure. The pre-monsoon showers in the high altitudes of Uttarakhand and impending landslides failed to deter us.

Mohit has, as always, been instrumental in drumming up (rather cooking up) such escapades alongwith the head of our research division, Varshaji.

Varshaji has this knack of googling the most unheard of locations with all kinds of lodging options to fit the budget. Her attention for the tiny details has always helped us taking the correct right turns even though she herself keep pointing towards left.

It was 5 am in the morning when "JUMBA" purred into life and our journey began. Nannu carefully checked his little domain inside and perched himself neatly on the floor bed, with all his gadgets, snacks, chocolates snugged tightly all around.

Monica could hardly manage to snub the excitement and immediately rolled out all the sandwiches even before we were out of Delhi. Monica always brings this sense of calm between all the clamoring - maybe her dedication towards her exercise regime (Pranayam notwithstanding) helps her radiate among lesser mortals like us.

Somewhere in this milieu one can feel Jagjit Singh fighting for his place between Chauhan's and Ghoshal's.

JUMBA ROARED !!!!

Our journey began........................
